During the 2016 Food Safety Consortium, FDA Deputy Commissioner for Foods and Veterinary Medicine Stephen Ostroff, M.D., clarified FDA’s stance on enforcement.

“Our goal is for us to promote food safety, not to resort first and foremost to enforcement actions,” said Ostroff.
